As part of our early 2022 re-issue of Simon Kirby, Tommy Perman and Rob St John's 'Concrete Antenna', we'll be sharing this series of remixes by Richard Norris, Miaoux Miaoux, SHHE, Lomond Campbell and The Open Path.

// LOMOND CAMPBELL //

Lomond Campbell lives quietly by a loch in the highlands, making music and building music machines. He released his debut album 'Black River Promise' and then took time out to finish building a studio and workshop called The Lengthsm where he makes all his work. He released 'LŪP', his first album on One Little Independent Records, last October and has recently followed up with another album called 'Lost Loops'. He is currently working on a series of new machines and albumsm which will surface over the next two years. Lomond has also produced a few albums for other artists in The Lengths, including Kathryn Joseph and King Creosote.

// RICHARD NORRIS //

Richard Norris has a deep and broad history spanning decades of dance and electronic music culture. The Grid (his partnership with Soft Cell's Dave Ball) enjoyed a run of successful albums and ten UK hit singles, including Balearic classic ‘Floatation’ and the million-selling ‘Swamp Thing’. The Grid also produced and remixed many artists, including Brian Eno, Yello, Erasure, David Sylvian, Happy Mondays, Pet Shop Boys and many more.

Recently Richard has released a series of ambient and deep listening electronic albums on his Group Mind label, recalling the ambient and kosmische sounds of Eno, Cluster and Harmonia. His ‘Music For Healing’ deep listening project is currently being trialled by the NHS for rollout to patients suffering from stress and anxiety-related issues.

Electronic Sound magazine calls him “tone of contemporary music’s most respected innovators… the electronic musician’s electronic musician’, whilst Time Out New York referred to him as an ‘unhinged sonic magician’.

// SHHE //

SHHE is Scottish-Portuguese artist and musician Su Shaw. Based in Dundee, Scotland, her artistic practice is influenced by environment, exploring themes of identity and connection at the intersection between sound and space.

SHHE’s eponymous debut album was released by One Little Independent Records and was shortlisted for Scottish Album of the Year 2020.

A solo project musically but also a platform for collaboration, working on projects with filmmakers, dancers, visual artists and designers across all mediums. SHHE’s previous composition and sound installations have been presented at V&A Dundee, Summerhall and CCA/Cryptic (Scotland), Hangar (Portugal), BFI and Sensoria’s FAMLAB (international) and the Westfjords Residency (Iceland).

// MIAOUX MIAOUX //

Julian Corrie a.k.a Miaoux Miaoux is a musician and producer based in the Scottish Highlands. He plays keyboards and guitar in the band Franz Ferdinand, contributing to their 2018 album ‘Always Ascending’ and subsequent world tour.

Julian has also released two solo albums as Miaoux Miaoux on Chemikal Underground Records - ‘Light of the North’ (2012) and ‘School of Velocity’ (2015) - as well as producing over 40 remixes for other artists including CHVRCHES, Belle & Sebastian, Lindstrom and Arab Strap.

His other work includes sound design and music for a number of pieces by acclaimed video artist Rachel Maclean, as well as music and sound for National Theatre Scotland.

// THE OPEN PATH //
